The Floating Fox after school program is a 3-hour reset between the bustle of school and a restful evening at home. We emphasize mindfulness with deep breathing exercises, stretching, mindfulness skill-building and art. Grades K-5 are capable of enjoying the benefits of a yoga practice that is their own. Developing an understanding for what meditation is and how to practice it is a life skill that one may carry with them all their life. Some benefits of mindfulness are increased empathy, decreased anxiety, mental clarity, affect tolerance, emotional intelligence, creativity, and a self-formulated sense of safety from within. The studio will be 100% devoted to the after school program during the hours of the program so children will be free to spread out and feel comfortable in the space while being supervised by our wonderful staff. Some of our favorite creative outlets are mindfully repurposing materials to give them a new life, collaborating as a group on drawings, and using our t-shirt press!
We’re in a historic building so there are lots of twists and turns in the building! We have easy access to the front and the rear of the building. Either come up and scoop your kiddo yourself or if drive up to suite 202 on the far right of the building and text us at 859-413-4414. We will walk your child out to your car. If you need to pick up your child earlier, that is not a problem.
